We are a biotech small business in San Diego, CA with the purpose of leveraging advanced biosensor technology with a powerful sdAb library to improve antibody-based testing and research.

For over a decade, our team of scientists and engineers has leveraged synthetic biology and microfluidics to develop at-line, quantitative, and multiplexed sensors in the lab and the field with funding from government agencies including the EPA, DOE, NIH, DTRA, DARPA, and IARPA. Our sdAb library serves as a powerful tool to expand our suite of sensors and assists customers with their antibody needs.

QBI is focused on developing novel, flexible, and customizable biosensors. QBI brings a diverse team with extensive knowledge and expertise in synthetic biology, bioengineering, sensor technology, computational biology, and machine learning.

QBI’s synthetic VHH business is over 14 years in the making. We first developed high-affinity VHH binders as at-line multiplexed sensors to identify almost any contaminant suspected of being found in water. This capability was used as an internal tool and perfected over many years to become the VHH discovery service we can offer you today.
