As California faces increasing strains on our finite energy and water supplies, the “farm of the future” will need to maximize its resources in an integrated manner to generate energy, clean water, grow animal feed, and produce valuable co-products.

Van Ommering Dairy

We partnered with the Van Ommering Dairy in Lakeside, CA to treat their 300-cow wastewater load. During our partnership, we built two 60,000 gallon algae raceway ponds that are over 200 feet in length and can produce about 5.7 metric tons of algae per year.

This project was accomplished with generous funding from the California Energy Commission. Click below to download a descriptive poster of our process. If you would like more information on this project, please contact us.
